Nightingale, a musical regarding the life and passion of Florence Nightingale
January 30, 2019 • less than 1 minute to read
After a successful 2-night run of staged readings this past September, HEARTS: Health Enriched by the Arts is returning with a fully staged musical production by Pamela Gerke. Directed by Rachel Rene, Nightingale follows Florence Nightingale’s life as a significant figure in nursing and health care history.
Florence Nightingale’s struggle to understand her “call from God,” her resistance against her wealthy British family and Victorian society and her leadership during the Crimean War will be demonstrated through original music in tribute to her work in health care reform, creation of nurse training and the profession of nursing in this modern take on her life.
WSNA is a proud sponsor of the Nightingale 2019 tour.
