Get involved!
Posted Feb 7, 2025
Our union has multiple opportunities for getting involved- check them out below!
Local Officer Nominations
Every three years, we elect the officers who represent Holy Family nurses. Strong, engaged leadership builds a stronger union, and passionate nurses like us are the backbone of our collective power. Remember: WE are the Union. Every victory—from wage increases to safer staffing—has been won through our collective action and solidarity. Pictured above are our current officers and WSNA Nurse Rep after negotiating our labor contract.
If you’re a WSNA member in good standing, you’re eligible to run for office. This is your chance to lead and make a difference. Nominations are now open HERE and will close on 2/28/25. We encourage every interested nurse to step up and nominate a colleague you think would make a good officer! The elected positions include:
- Chair
- Co-Chair
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Grievance officer
- Membership officer
- Member at Large
Position descriptions are listed on the nomination form so nurses know what to expect from each role and the positions are for a term of 3 years.
Holy Family Nurses Community Service Event
Our nurses are volunteering for Heroes Homestead for their annual 5k walk. This organization based in Clayton, WA is focused on supporting our veterans and their families. Join us for our WSNA Community Service event on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Riverfront Park from 9:30a-1:30p. Please sign up on our volunteer form HERE. We also have an opportunity to mark on the form if you would prefer to walk this event as a group of Holy Family Nurses.
Workplace Violence Survey
Do you get punched at work? Do you get yelled at by patients and their family members? Do you know a nurse who has been assaulted verbally, physically, or sexually while working? Our union is seeking input directly from our nurses on their experiences with workplace violence. The information provided will be used by our nurses on the Workplace Violence Committee, Susan Detheridge, Alina Creighton and Rae Crownhart, to help facilitate improvements in our working conditions. Any data shared with management will be anonymized and aggregated. Please submit your survey here.
