Holiday Scheduling: Important News!

Your officers heard your concerns about the unilateral changes to holiday scheduling that did not allow you the opportunity to rank your holiday preferences for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve and New Years. We had an emergency meeting with management earlier this week to ensure that previously used mutually established guidelines would be followed, and they agreed to go back to how holidays have been scheduled in previous years on a slightly accelerated timeline to ensure you know your holiday schedule as quickly as possible while still having enough time to submit your preferences.

You should receive messaging shortly from your schedulers and administration about how and where to indicate your preferences so they can be taken into account. You will need to submit your preferences by the end of September! If you won't be able to do so in person, please contact your manager and scheduler as soon as possible to ensure your priorities are taken into consideration when the new holiday schedule is created.

Your officer team will be working with administration to come up with a new set of mutually established guidelines early next year to ensure holidays are distributed fairly with due consideration to your needs and preferences going forward. Thank you for letting us know your concerns so we could take quick action to remedy the situation.
