WSNA Negotiating update! Communication you can TRUST

Day #9 of negotiations is complete. We did make some progress this day, including reaching a tentative agreement dealing with internal transfers. Currently, if the new assignment was not working out, there was not a mechanism by which the nurse and Management could agree that the best solution was to return the nurse to their former position. Now, that is an option.

However, important issues such as Short Term Disability and other takeaways are still on the table. Management is still proposing an insulting 0.5% across-the-board wage increase in each year of the contract. How does it intend to recruit and retain nurses with such an offer?

We continue to push for better wages, safer staffing, improved benefits, greater protection from workplace violence, and more control over our work lives.

More information will be presented at the next Local Unit Meeting, including information regarding the upcoming picket and other actions you can take to support your fellow nurses on your WSNA bargaining team.

Come to the sign making party the night prior and make your sign for the picket! May 8 - 5:30-7:30 p.m, Spokane Regional Labor Council building.
